Irish Cattle Breeders Awards Night 2023 

 

One of our members was honored at this year’s Pedigree Cattle Breeders Awards night held in the Midlands Park Hotel on 3rd February. 

 

Alan Hanbidge received the award for ‘Years of Service to the Montbeliarde Society’. Alan has been breeding Montbeliarde cows for nearly 30 years and was one of the first to have them in Ireland. He farms along with his daughter Linda and son Gordon and they have nearly a full pedigree herd that he bred up from British Friesians. 

 

Alan has been an active member of the society from its infancy having been part of the core group that formed the society in the early 1990s. He has held the role as chairperson and is now our treasurer.
